Event Planner- Hawaii

TechTrans International provides language services and travel logistics, language teaching, interpreting, translating, travel coordination and much more. We have international offices, staff, and clients calling us from around the world.
 
We are seeking an Event Planner located in Hawaii.  A successful candidate must be able to work with minimal to no supervision. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Plan events from start to finish based on requirements, participants and objectives
  • Plan multiple events simultaneously and keep pace with changes, meeting target deadlines
  • Coordinate vendors and suppliers
  • Adhere to established budgets
  • Keep updated records in workflow management systems
  • Duties include contract negotiations, venue booking and reservations and vendor agreements
  • Coordinate event logistics, transportation, itineraries, materials support and event evaluations
  • Handle unforeseen event issues and quickly resolve emerging problems on the event day
  • Maintain proactive open communication with stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, preferably with concentration in Communications, Procurement or Hospitality
  • Event planning experience, hospitality experience, event and/or travel logistics or relevant working experience is preferred
  • Event planning experience for government events highly preferred
  • Ability to oversee collaborative event planning for venue, food and beverage, travel, childcare licensure, logistics, insurance, A/V, registration, invoicing, billing, and other areas as required
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with vendors
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, communication, and database management
